Target groups of “ISG for Competence” Project include the following:

Target groups of “ISG for Competence” Project include the following:

- Children and youth with mild learning disabilities (slow rate of maturation, reduced learning capacity and inadequate social adjustment)

 

- Children and youth with sensory impairments

 

- Children and youth with low level social skills

 

- Children and youth with specific learning difficulties (dyslexia, dyspraxia, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD)

The needs of these groups include skills for social competence to include:

Basic Skills

Personal Development Skills

Key Skills

Preparation & Sustainability

Literacy, numeracy, ICT.

Self-esteem, confidence building and motivation, managing anger, managing stress, working with other people.

Communication, application of number and information technology working with others, improving own learning and performance or problem solving

to individual need, which might include travel training, communication support etc.

People in these target groups need individually tailored packages of learning and support that are presented in clear, engaging, accessible and usable format, in small bite-sized learning units with small-step progression pathways. All learning should be targeted to meet individual learning styles wherever possible.
